The Randonnée des Faios begins at the Salle des Fêtes in Chamaret, where VTT Chamaret organizes a morning-to-early-afternoon off-road event for cyclists and hikers. Cyclists select from 12, 20, 30, or 45 km routes, and hikers have 9, 12, or 16 km options. Registration is straightforward and has a local character, costing 13 euros for the public and 10 euros for club members.
The cycling routes favor quick riding over difficult survival: one participant described long sections of singletrack, many opportunities for acceleration, and a longer route with approximately 1,000 m of elevation gain. Certain paths traverse private property, leading organizers to request that participants respect the course due to access being contingent on negotiated landowner permissions. The name is seen as both Faios and Fayots; even past attendees have humorously stated they are unsure of the reason for the name. The event has occurred at least 26 times, and the Chamaret mountain-bike club marked its 25th anniversary with a special edition.
