At the Boulodrome on Place du Champ de Mars in Privas, Randonnée du Vivarais brings together road and mountain-bike riders for a one-day cycling event in autumn. Organized by Cyclo Randonneurs Privadois, it welcomes licensed and non-licensed cyclists. Starts are staggered, with longer routes departing later in the morning. The event offers a range of distances: VTT options typically span 20 to 60 km, while road options cover 50, 70, or 100 km.
The road courses feature a 50 km route with approximately 500 to 700 m of elevation gain, a 75 km route with about 800 to 1,000 m, and a 100 km route with 1,500 to 2,000 m. This allows participants to select a ride from a gentle spin to a challenging hilly day. Final route specifics and elevation figures are published shortly before the event. Annually, around 300 to 400 cyclists participate, drawn by the varied distances, well-supplied aid stations, coffee upon registration, and a snack at the finish. Younger participants are also accommodated with free or reduced entry fees based on age and license status.
