The Rogaine des Ruthènes Raid is a score-orienteering race held in March, starting in Rodez, Aveyron. Participants, either solo or in teams of up to five, navigate using a map to locate as many checkpoints as possible within a set time. Available formats include 2-hour, 4-hour, and 6-hour options. Each checkpoint has a point value, typically between 3 and 9 points, meaning the optimal path is not necessarily the shortest.
The race route winds through Rodez's streets and extends into the Aveyron valley, combining urban navigation with open terrain. Checkpoints are verified using an electronic finger device. Teams are ranked by their total points after the time limit expires, with penalties applied for late finishes. The event welcomes beginners, experienced orienteers, families, friends, and colleagues, with younger children requiring adult accompaniment depending on the chosen format. Raid Aventure Aveyron organizes the race, and all finishers receive drinks and refreshments.
