The Ronde Aiguefondaise is a spring trail-running event held in Aiguefonde, a village in the Tarn department of Occitanie, France, situated at the base of the Montagne Noire. Participants can select a shorter trail of approximately 11 to 11.5 km or a more challenging 20 km route. The event also includes races for children and juniors, as well as an 11 km gourmet hike for walkers, ensuring the day caters to various participants beyond just competitive runners.
The 20 km race, known as La Piste du Dolmen, involves an ascent of about 1000 m, making it suitable for experienced trail runners. The shorter race, La Ronde Aiguefondaise, features roughly 350 to 400 m of climbing, presenting a moderate challenge. Both routes traverse marked nature trails through the surrounding forest and mountain landscape, with the event organized by Courir Ensemble Aiguefonde. Following the races, participants have the option to enjoy a set meal comprising an appetizer, main course, and dessert, contributing to a local club atmosphere rather than a large commercial race feel.
