The La Ronde de Château-Gombert begins and ends at the Domaine Départemental de la Nègre, located in the Château Gombert area of Marseille at the base of the Massif de l'Étoile. This trail running event offers three distances: the 24 km Challenge Terre de Running with approximately 700 m of elevation gain, the 12.7 km La Ronde with about 310 m, and the 5.5 km L'Inoubliable with around 192 m. Races commence in the morning, organized by Athletic Club Phocéen.
The 24 km race ascends to the crest of the Massif de l'Étoile, providing participants with a panoramic 360-degree view. La Ronde serves as an intermediate step into trail running for those familiar with nature races, while the 5.5 km option presents a shorter course with reduced climbing. This marks the event's 25th year. Results contribute to regional league and FSGT challenges, with La Ronde and the Challenge Terre de Running also qualifying for the regional FSGT championship. Youth races for categories up to minimes are included, with free entry.
