Saint Off en Trail begins in Saint-Offenge-Dessus, a Savoie village at the base of Mont Bange in the Bauges massif. This October event offers trail running, Nordic walking, hiking, canicross, canitrail, and a short 500 m race, with both day and night options. The primary trail distances vary from the 10 km Speed Trail des Coteaux to the 34 km Trail des Crets de Bange. Intermediate options include the approximately 18 km Trail des Coteaux, which ascends about 1,000 m. Participants can opt for team formats, running in pairs or as a relay, and dog runners have dedicated events.
The race departs the village quickly, entering a narrow uphill singletrack within the first kilometer that separates runners. The course then returns through the village before heading into accessible forest trails. The night races: one route is noted as 92% trail in complete darkness, and the Updown night trail requires participants to carry a headlamp. The longer courses ascend towards the Crets de Bange, while shorter races and walks follow routes along the coteaux and streams near the village. The event has the feel of a season-ending local trail gathering, accommodating solo runners, relay teams, Nordic walkers, hikers, canitrail pairs, and families.
