The 26 km option, featuring 1,100 metres of climbing, presents Saintger'Trail's challenging course. However, the event covers more than just this demanding trail race. It takes place in Haute-Loire, starting from Saint-Germain-Laprade, utilizing the Plaine sports complex as its central hub. Typically scheduled in the spring, the race is organized by Les Foulées de Saint-Germain Laprade. Participants also have the choice of shorter trail distances, such as a 16 km route with 550 metres of elevation gain and an 8 km route with 150 metres of gain.
The event also includes mountain bikers and walkers, contributing to a local outdoor gathering atmosphere rather than a singular race day. The courses are set within the countryside surrounding Saint-Germain-Laprade, with new trail, VTT, and hiking routes introduced in recent years. Dedicated children's races, covering 300 metres, 800 metres, and 1.5 km, ensure family participation. The organizing club also maintains a charitable tradition, donating proceeds from the hikes to an association supporting individuals with serious illnesses.
