Boucles de la Juine is a road-running weekend in Saclas, featuring a Sunday half marathon and a shorter Boucles de la Juine race. This event marks its 35th edition, having been a fixture on the local running calendar for over three decades. Saturday begins with a children’s mini-cross around the lake. Sunday starts early with bib pickup and same-day registration before the half marathon, the Boucles race, and the Alzheimer’s walk commence close together in the morning.
The half marathon also functions as the Essonne championship, attracting competitive club runners alongside local participants aiming for the distance. The Alzheimer’s walk adds a charitable dimension to the weekend, generating awareness and support for those affected by the disease. Following the races, category winners receive prizes. Bib numbers are entered into a draw, with a family weekend at Beauval Zoo as the main prize. Participants are welcome to stay for a communal spit-roasted meal with friends and family.
