Semi-Marathon Locronan-Plogonnec-Quimper 2027

The Semi-Marathon Locronan-Plogonnec-Quimper is a road race held in March in Finistère, Brittany, offering two primary distances. The half marathon runs from Locronan through Plogonnec to Quimper, and a 10 km race goes from Le Croëzou to Quimper. These courses are designed for fast running, not arduous climbs; the half marathon has an elevation gain of 89 m and a loss of 239 m, while the 10 km gains 43 m and loses 129 m, featuring a 4 km downhill section. The half marathon is FFA certified, making it the sole certified half marathon in Finistère, allowing participants to qualify for the French championships. The course begins in a village designated as one of France's most beautiful, proceeds through the countryside of Plogonnec and Le Croëzou, and becomes more verdant and forested before concluding in Quimper, the capital of Cornouaille. The finish line is situated on the Odet quays, near Saint-Corentin Cathedral, placing the end of the race in the historic city center rather than a nondescript sports facility. The event attracts runners from all over France, with previous half marathon fields exceeding 2,000 participants and the 10 km drawing over 1,000. Additionally, free youth races for ages 7 to 15 are available, along with entertainment at the start and finish, and post-race crêpes.
