The Semi-Marathon Sitrans de Chartres is a running event held in March in Chartres, located in the Eure-et-Loir department of France’s Centre-Val de Loire region. The program includes a 21.1 km half marathon, a 10 km race, a 5 km race, and children’s races. This structure accommodates club runners, casual runners, and families, not exclusively half-marathon specialists.
The shorter races begin the day, with the 5 km race preceding the 10 km, and the half marathon taking place later in the morning. A recent edition saw 5,019 finishers in the main races and 222 children participate, supported by 270 volunteers. Runners collectively covered 78,702.9 km. The half marathon has a connection with UNICEF, and the children’s races have also supported UNICEF, providing a charitable focus for the event alongside the competition. This event is now in its 28th edition.
