レースについて
St-Hilaire Mortain is a road race in the Manche department of Normandy, held annually at the start of October by Avenir de Mortain Athlétisme. The primary event covers approximately 16 km with around 300 metres of elevation gain. Participants can compete individually or in teams of 2 or 4, with categories for men, women, and mixed teams.
The course follows roads and a recent greenway near Mortain, featuring a segment leading towards a small chapel. The race's challenge intensifies in the final 3 km, which contain the entire 300 metres of climbing, averaging about 10%. This makes the finish a demanding uphill effort rather than a flat conclusion. The event, now in its 25th edition or later, attracts a modest local field and has supported the south Manche oncology group.
