The Saint Patrick Run is an evening team relay held in Beaupréau-en-Mauges, beginning at the race village located at 1 Route de Nantes. Organized by L'Entente des Mauges, the event centers around a Saint Patrick's Day theme, incorporating Celtic music, green attire, and numerous costumes. Rather than a conventional point-to-point course, teams repeatedly traverse a short 1.2 km circuit for a set duration. Pairs compete in the Relais Duo for one hour, while teams of four participate in a longer relay lasting one hour and thirty minutes.
The race format emphasizes pacing and baton exchanges as much as outright speed. In the two-person event, a single runner begins on the loop. For the four-person race, two runners start simultaneously, allowing teams greater flexibility in strategizing their running order. The event attracts friends, colleagues, club members, and corporate teams, with 569 runners recorded in participation. The lap records illustrate the pace of leading teams on the compact course: ASEC LA POMMERAY completed 22 laps in the men's division, and LES PINK and ALLARD 3 each achieved 17 laps in the women's and corporate categories, respectively.
