Tra'Zille begins in the center of Azille, a village situated on a rocky outcrop in the Minervois region of Aude, Occitanie. This spring trail-running event offers various distances and categories: an ultra-trail, shorter trail races, Nordic walking, a hike, and children's races. The standard 11 km and 22 km courses are undulating, featuring modest ascents rather than technical sections; the 22 km route includes approximately 450 meters of elevation gain. Both the 11 km and 22 km races contribute to the Aude departmental challenge.
The courses depart the village via lanes, tracks, and natural paths, proceeding through vineyards, low hills, and woodland. The longer routes extend to the Gorges de la Cesse and the Brian, with the broader Minervois scenery providing expansive vistas towards the Black Mountain, Mont Alaric, and the Pyrenees. Tra'Zille is suitable for novice trail runners seeking a manageable event, as well as seasoned participants looking for a local race with genuine climbs. The participant numbers are controlled, fostering a community feel akin to a village gathering rather than a large, impersonal competition.
