The Trail Alpilles Glanum begins at 7:30 AM on Place de la République in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The main race covers 35 km with 1,300 metres of elevation gain in the Alpilles massif. This is a demanding trail race for experienced runners, limited to 400 participants. The course features DFCI fire roads, narrow singletrack, rocky ground, pine woods, and the dry garrigue terrain characteristic of this region of Provence.
The route shares its initial section with shorter races before the 35 km runners proceed onto additional loops. They head first toward Haute Cadenière, then after the climb known as “Le Mur,” toward Les Baux-de-Provence. Later, the course diverges into the Vallon des Lombards before rejoining the 16 km course near the finish, passing Glanum, Les Antiques, and the lake area. The course includes steep technical climbs and descents alongside faster forest tracks, with the final section requiring attention even when fatigued. Full aid stations are located at 15 km and 23 km, and participants must carry their own food and water between these points. GPS tracks are not provided to protect the trails; markings and volunteers will guide participants.
