La Dragonale Givrée is a winter trail race in Praz-sur-Arly, a mountain village in the French Alps near the Aravis and Mont Blanc massifs. It is also known as the Trail blanc de Praz-sur-Arly, indicating the core concept: running on snow in January, instead of dry summer paths. Participants can select a 12 km route with 688 m of elevation gain or an 8 km route with 330 m of gain. Entry is limited to 150 and 200 participants for each respective distance. A children's race is also offered, with on-site registration.
The course is suitable for less experienced trail runners seeking a winter challenge, though the snow and ascents present more than a casual village run. Previous course descriptions mentioned a route entirely on snow, featuring minor ascents, snowy descents, and clear views of Praz-sur-Arly, the Aravis peaks, and Mont Blanc. The event, still in its early stages, has attracted over 300 participants. Registration requirements are specific: runners without an FFA license must provide a health prevention certificate, incomplete entries are rejected without reimbursement, identification is needed for bib collection, and free parking is available near the snow front.
