Trail Blanc Vauban by Night is a night snow-trail race held in Briançon, located in France’s Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Briançon is situated at a high altitude in the Hautes-Alpes. The race commences after sunset, presenting runners with challenges of cold, darkness, snow underfoot, and mountain climbing, deviating from a standard road-race pace. The primary event is 14 km with 650 m of elevation gain. A shorter option, La Ronde Des Forts, covers 7 km with 300 m of climbing.
The course incorporates Briançon’s Vauban fortifications, which are 17th-century structures designated as World Heritage sites. The shorter race is named La Ronde Des Forts, referencing these forts. This event is among the established white-trail races and traditionally marks the beginning of the trail running season, serving as an early-season assessment for returning racers. The Running Collective organizes the event; however, specific practical information for upcoming races may not be finalized well ahead of time.
