L'Effort des Forts du Fort is a trail and duathlon event in Manonviller, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France's Grand Est region, typically held in mid-March. The concept is straightforward: participants run a 7 km loop within the Fort de Manonviller and adjacent trails. This can be completed as a single short trail race, three loops for 21 km, or as many loops as desired within a four-hour timed period. The event also features an 11 km Nordic walk or hike, a Cross Duathlon S (4 km run, 12 km bike, 1.8 km run), and various youth races ranging from 400 m to 7 km.
The fort defines the race's character. This late-19th-century Séré de Rivières fortification means the course winds through old military grounds and wooded paths, not just a simple countryside loop. Youth categories include U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, and U20, with the U20 race following the 21 km, three-loop format. A unique addition is the "ULTRAS-FORT" challenge, which merges the cross duathlon, three trail loops, and a pasta party for those seeking an extended event.
