Château-Chalon, a wine-country village, hosts the start of the Trail de la Vallée de la Haute Seille in mid-June. This trail race, located in the Jura department of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, offers two distances: an 11 km course with 420 meters of elevation gain and a 21 km course with approximately 850 to 860 meters of climbing. Even the shorter distance requires solid trail running experience.
The courses traverse wild, technical paths through natural and forested terrain in the Haute Seille valley. The event caters to various skill levels, from those progressing to a challenging short trail to experienced runners tackling the longer route. Taktik Sport / Ski club Mont Noir organizes the race, using the French motto “Course sous Haute Passion.”
