The Trail de la Vézère is a spring trail-running event in Montignac-Lascaux, Dordogne. It guides runners along the paths of the Périgord Noir, offering 7 km, 14 km, and approximately 22-23 km routes, alongside a walking option for those preferring not to race on the same day.
The start is at the town stadium. For a local event, the field is substantial; recent editions have attracted over 500 participants, comprising around 460 runners and about fifty walkers. The Amicale Laïque du Montignacois, supported by local volunteers, organizes the event. Guillaume Pirault and his team lead the day's activities, and the race is considered Montignac's primary sporting occasion. It draws both trail and road runners from across Dordogne, creating a competitive edge at the front while maintaining the event's local character.
