Trail de Roucassiero is a short, difficult trail race in Val de Tignet, a village above Peymeinade in southern France. It provides two distances: 8.5 km with 330 m of elevation gain and 16.5 km with 685 m of elevation gain, offering runners a compact yet demanding day. Over 250 entries sold out rapidly, demonstrating the event's local appeal.
The courses traverse forest and garrigue, featuring steep ascents, rocky paths, and some quicker flat sections between the challenging parts. The name “Lou traï de Rousassiero” originates from Nissart and signifies the red rocks near Tignet. The organizers developed the race based on this local landscape and their connection to the region, and previous years have seen the typical mountain race concern regarding rain after significant downpours.
