The Trail des 7 Hameaux guides participants through the seven hamlets surrounding Magny-les-Hameaux, a community in the Yvelines department southwest of Paris. This trail event, held in mid-October, offers 12.5 km and 23.5 km races, alongside events for children, juniors, and individuals with disabilities. The upcoming event marks the 14th edition. It appeals to runners seeking a nature-focused race near Paris, as opposed to an urban road race.
The course begins a few kilometers from Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and crosses much of the forest within the Parc naturel régional de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse. Participants will pass through Magny-Village, Gomberville, Villeneuve, Romainville, Brouessy, le Bois des Roches, and Buloyer. The terrain includes undergrowth, narrow paths, muddy sections, and the Forêt domaniale du Claireau. Given that October weather in this region can be very wet, the course may become slippery and challenging. The event also features music prior to the race and a communal meal afterward, aligning with its welcoming and environmentally conscious character.
