Trail des contreforts de Piolit - La Bâtie-Neuve 2027

The Trail des contreforts de Piolit is a nature race held in La Bâtie-Neuve, a village situated at the southern entrance to Champsaur, located between Gap and Chorges in the Hautes-Alpes. This event marks the beginning of the local trail-running season in department 05, excluding snow races. It features an 18 km route along the Faudon ridges, a 10 km route on the Sapet trails, a 6 km hike, and races for children. The race's name originates from Piolit, the initial summit overlooking the region, known for its challenging ascent among local cyclists near the Col de Moissière. The courses are designed along paths frequently used by local runners, incorporating secluded routes that are difficult for visitors to discover independently. ACTION 05 is the organizing body for the event, attracting participants from within the department and from further afield.
