The Trail des Forgerons begins and ends at Place Marie-Curie in Saint-Juéry, Tarn, directing participants onto local paths instead of roads. This established trail event takes place on a Sunday morning in March, organized by Lo Capial animation house. Adult participants can select from three races: the 30 km Trail des Forgerons, the 14.5 km nature race, and the 8 km Forgeronnette. A separate route is available for walkers and free Nordic walking, ensuring the morning includes more than just runners.
The primary course crosses trails surrounding Saint-Juéry and Les Avalats, featuring viewpoints near the former railway line on chemin du Rousset, in Marsal village, Gougeac, and Les Avalats. Marsal also functions as a refreshment stop, and the route passes the castle at Les Avalats and the cemetery. Children have their own races, categorized by age, with complimentary on-site registration, parental consent, and a health form needed. Each young finisher receives a small award, and the top three in each youth category are recognized on a podium.
