Trail des Lucioles is a night trail race in Frontignan, a town between Montpellier and Sète in southern France. Runners start on a spring evening with headlamps, climbing the heights above town and running under the stars in the local massif. The event is open to regular trail runners, occasional runners, and walkers, with entries possible solo or as a duo.
The course is built around Frontignan’s hills rather than city streets, so the appeal is the night-time climb and the view from the massif after dark. The race has passed a dozen editions, giving it a settled place in the local trail calendar. After the run, participants are offered a brasucade, the shellfish feast associated with the area around the Étang de Thau and the Mediterranean coast.
