Trail des lucioles - Riotord 2027

The Trail des Lucioles begins in the village of Riotord, Haute-Loire, offering three semi-night trail races that extend into the evening. Participants can choose from La Matrue, an 8 km route with approximately 250 m of elevation gain; Le Châtaignier, a 16 km route with about 560 m of climbing; and La Pothée, a 32 km route with roughly 1,060 m of elevation gain. The longer routes also hold trail-running certifications: La Pothée is ITRA certified and qualifies for the UTMB 20K category, and Le Châtaignier is also recognized for UTMB 20K. The event caters to various participants. Runners may select a short, middle, or long trail. Walkers have an approximately 10 km option, and children can compete in their own 500 m and 1,000 m races. Since 2008, the organizers have promoted trail running in Haute-Loire, attracting up to around 700 participants. A pasta party is provided at the finish line. The event also serves a charitable purpose, with each edition supporting an association. A recent donation of EUR2,000 was made to assist a young autistic teenager from Yssingeaux.
