The Trail des Pierres Dorées takes place in Anse, north of Lyon, in late June. The program features trail running and walking through the Beaujolais region's stone villages and vineyards. Distances range from short to mid-length, including beginner routes of about 10-12 km, tougher courses around 15 km, and a long Cadoles route extending to 29 km with approximately 700 m of elevation gain.
The Vigne des Garçons, the shortest option, is primarily off-road. Organizers estimate it at 12 km with roughly 300 m of ascent, featuring a 90% trail to 10% road ratio. Participants will run through vineyards, forest paths, natural landscapes, past castles, and cadoles – the small dry-stone shelters that lend their name to the longer race. The event welcomes participants beyond seasoned trail runners; the short course is designed for those new to the sport, and individuals aged 16 and up can enter that route.
