Trail des sables - Barbaste 2026

The Trail des Sables - Barbaste is a short trail-running event held at the Cap Cauderoue site in Barbaste, located in the Lot-et-Garonne region of southwest France. Cap Animation is the organizing body, with Pascal Sanchez serving as the event contact. Participants can select from two distances: a 9 km route and a 15 km route, making the day suitable for those seeking a brief off-road run rather than an ultra-distance event. The course navigates the Cap Cauderoue area, extending through Barbaste and Réaup-Lisse. This event originated from the local "course des sables" tradition, which has been revived as a trail race. Registration is limited to 1,000 runners. The most recent edition saw 520 participants, contributing to a local race atmosphere with sufficient numbers on the trails to ensure liveliness without a large mass start.
