Trail des trabucayres - Maureillas-las-Illas 2026

Trail des Trabucayres is a Sunday-in-October trail event held in Maureillas-las-Illas. It features a 15 km race, a 5 km race, and an 11 km hike. Now in its third edition, the event has expanded its program beyond adult races. Following requests from families, the organizers introduced two children’s races: one for ages 6 to 10 and another for ages 11 to 13. The children’s races take place through the village streets, while the adult program offers the short trail, longer trail, and hiking options. Visually impaired participants also compete, accompanied by a guide on a special circuit. The association Courir en vallées sauvages, led by Gérald Frère, organizes the race. Entries have been increasing, with the previous edition attracting 485 participants. Organizers anticipate 550 adults and approximately 30 children in each youth race for the upcoming event.
