The Trail diabolique de grand Cognac is a Halloween-themed trail run in Bourg-Charente. Night starts depart from the port square, and headlamps are mandatory. Runners can select between 8.5 km and 15.5 km routes, offering a brief after-dark run or an extended circuit through the Grand Cognac woods. Organized by Team Charentes Triathlon with approximately fifty volunteers, the race is in its early editions.
Around 400 runners are anticipated, with staggered starts to allow participants to appreciate the course's decorations, surprises, and animations. Costumes are encouraged for both participants and volunteers. A hidden pumpkin on each route will be awarded a prize to the runner who retrieves it. Post-race, participants may receive a squash from the Châteaubernard gardens, and finishers will be offered soup from La Ribaudière restaurant.
