The Trail du Caroux begins in Mons-la-Trivalle, offering three challenging mountain routes: a 10 km with 560 m elevation gain, an 18 km with 1,200 m, and a 30 km with 2,200 m. Held in July within the Caroux mountains, this event ensures that even the shortest course demands significant effort, far from a simple village run. The longer distances commence in the early morning, with all participants concluding their race back in the village at Place de la Gare.
The race course crosses the rugged Caroux terrain, familiar to local trail runners who train there throughout the year. It includes ascents towards the Caroux summit, providing substantial uphill running. Over 600 participants are anticipated, which will create a bustling village atmosphere and limited parking on race day. The organizing club also hosts other local trail races, such as the Trail des Castagnes by Night, indicating its integration within a local trail running community rather than being an isolated event.
