The Trail du Forfelet begins at the football stadium in Corcieux, a village in the Vosges department of France's Grand Est region. Participants start at 9:30 AM in early November. This is a nature trail race, not a road race, featuring a main distance of approximately 15 to 16 km with 500 to 525 meters of climbing. An 8.5 km shorter option offers 225 meters of elevation gain.
The primary route is a single loop, predominantly through forest, with undulating terrain and scenic viewpoints. The organizers implement minor course adjustments between editions, maintaining the overall distance. The Corcieux athletics club organizes the event, which saw over 200 participants in its inaugural year. Aid stations are provided at the halfway point and the finish line, with all participants receiving a prize.
