Trail du mâconnais - Loché 2026

Trail du Mâconnais is a trail and nature-running event held in Mâcon-Loché, within Burgundy's wine region in eastern France. The Mille Pattes Mâcon club transitioned from road racing to off-road events in 2011, beginning with a 15 km nature race and a 9.3 km mixed-team relay. The series later operated as La Patte Verte Mâconnaise, featuring short discovery and longer expert routes, before adopting the Trail du Mâconnais name. Currently, it provides three distances, with recent events spanning approximately 9.5 km to 25 km and ascents from about 230 to 700 meters, allowing participants to select between a shorter trail run and a more challenging hilly race. The courses wind around the Grand Site de Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson, a locale recognized for its limestone formations above the vineyards. This defines the race's character: not a city circuit, but undulating trails, ascents, and vistas intrinsically linked to the Mâconnais terrain. Participation is moderate, with recent editions attracting a few hundred runners. The field has included visiting club athletes, such as those from the Mulhouse athletics club, alongside local trail runners. The event's origins are still evident in its straightforward organization: multiple distances, distinct elevation options, and a club-managed atmosphere instead of a large-scale commercial production.
