The Trail du Pays de Serres begins in Beauville, a medieval village in Lot-et-Garonne, situated on the border of Quercy. This trail-running event offers two primary distances: a 24 km race featuring approximately 1,000 m of elevation gain, and a 9 km race with around 300 m of elevation gain. The shorter course is designed for accessibility, whereas the longer one requires experienced trail runners. A children's race is also included, and the event is part of the Challenge Trail 47 circuit.
The 24 km route commences with its most demanding section, with successive ascents and descents, trails, and tight forest singletrack. Subsequently, the terrain becomes more conducive to running, allowing participants to increase their pace before a finish that penalizes overly aggressive starts. The course crosses private property, granted for the event, granting access to parts of the local landscape not typically available to runners. An option exists to compete in both races on the same day, with the 24 km run preceding the 9 km. Refreshments will be provided on-site for participants and their guests, and runners are requested to use their own cups at aid stations.
