Participants in the Trail du Père Noël des Petits Suisses Normands, a Christmas-themed trail event in Pont-d'Ouilly, Calvados, Normandy, are encouraged to wear a red hat. The event features trail races and a 10 km walk. The longer trail race begins in the morning, followed by the shorter trail race, and then the walkers start shortly after the 10 km runners.
The primary trail routes consist of a 22 km course with approximately 600 m of elevation gain and a 10 km course with about 230 m of elevation gain, meaning even the shorter race presents significant hills. The local leisure base serves as the start and finish point, with check-in and awards taking place at the village hall. Les Petits Suisses Normands, along with partners and around sixty volunteers, organize the event. The inaugural edition saw its races fill to capacity, though places remained available for the walking option.
