The Trail et Marche des Violettes begins at Stade Maxime Marchand in Louviers, directing participants immediately onto nature trails instead of paved roads. This event, taking place in March, features three trail running distances: 12 km, 25 km, and 42 km. A walking option is available for the 12 km distance. The 12 km trail involves 230 m of elevation gain, the 25 km route has 600 m, and the marathon distance climbs 1000 m. Consequently, even the shortest route requires more than basic flat-road fitness.
The 12 km course winds through forest terrain and includes muddy sections. It accommodates both timed and non-timed walkers, with distinct registration limits for each category. The 25 km route is presented as the more challenging intermediate option, while the 42 km race serves as the day's ultimate test, featuring the earliest start time and the most restricted participant numbers. Overall capacity is limited for all events: 420 entries for each of the 12 km and 25 km trails, 240 for the 42 km, 200 for the non-timed walk, and 100 for the timed walk. The race is in its early years, with the upcoming edition marking its 10th running.
