Trail la Cépienne begins and ends in Saint-Jean-de-la-Porte, a village in Savoie situated at the base of the Bauges massif. This established local trail event offers two distances, alongside a children's race, making it suitable for both seasoned mountain runners and families. The race takes place in autumn and is part of the UTMB Index, allowing finishers to accumulate points toward UTMB selection.
The courses traverse vineyard paths, challenging ascents, and exposed ridges overlooking the Combe de Savoie. Participants will see views of L’Arclusaz, with refreshment points located at Col de la Sciaz and further along the route. The event prioritizes dedicated trail runners over grand displays, attracting individuals seeking a demanding run, a communal outdoor experience, and the distinctive Savoie terrain that lends gravitas to shorter distances.
