The Trail la Fée Blanche takes runners onto snow after dark at the Aillons-Margériaz ski area in Aillon-le-Jeune, Savoie, a short trip from Chambéry. It is a 10 km night trail race starting at 18:00, with 270 metres of elevation gain, and headlamps are required. The format is straightforward: one loop through the nordic area, intended for those who prefer a winter run in running shoes over a day on skis.
The race begins and ends at the nordic centre’s ski hut. It then proceeds along alpine ski pistes, the cross-country track named the Fairies, and paths through the Chavanu woodland. The snow and darkness present the primary challenge, but the distance makes it approachable: novices can consider it a first white trail, while experienced trail runners can still enjoy a brisk winter run. The 10 km race is noted as the most attended option, and the event is scheduled for late February.
