The Trail Urbain de Lannion guides runners through central Lannion and up the 150 steps by the Brélévenez church. This December running event, organized by Lannion Athlétisme, features a city format combining pavement, paths, and significant climbing for its short distance. The program includes youth races of 1000 m and 1300 m, alongside 5 km and 10 km events for older participants. The Stairs Race takes place on Saturday evening, with the 10 km event scheduled for Sunday morning.
The 10 km, known as La Course des Costauds, begins with a brief 400 m loop before proceeding with two 4.8 km loops. Participants will ascend the Brélévenez steps twice before passing through Stanco park. The 5 km, La Course des Pères Noël, utilizes a small city-centre loop and one loop from the 10 km course, concluding at Place du Marchallach. Participants may also opt for the Grand Défi des Marches, combining the Stairs Race with the 10 km, or the Petit Défi des Marches, pairing the Stairs Race with the 5 km. The Brélévenez stairs present a notable challenge, with some runners resorting to walking them, particularly when fatigued.
