The Ultra Monplaisir, organized by MJC, is a timed loop race held in Parc de Parilly, located on the Rhône side of Lyon, France. Participants select a 3-hour, 6-hour, or 12-hour duration and aim to complete the maximum number of laps before their time expires. Each duration is available for solo runners or two-person relay teams, accommodating various participants from beginners and club runners to those seeking an extended ultra-distance challenge.
The race course is a 7 km loop featuring 100 meters of elevation gain per circuit, utilizing natural park trails instead of a paved road. The 12-hour race begins in the morning, followed by the 6-hour race in the afternoon, and the 3-hour race in the late afternoon. This staggered start schedule creates a continuous flow of activity on the course. MJC de Monplaisir hosts the event, and its straightforward format presents a clear objective: repeatedly navigate the loop, pace your exertion, and achieve the greatest distance possible.
