Verghia Roc is a mountain bike race held near the former Coti-Chiavari penitentiary in southern Corsica, organized by Vélo Club Ajaccio. The main races start in the morning, attracting around one hundred participants from clubs across the island. It is a category-based race, not a fixed distance for all: younger riders and some masters groups complete fewer laps, while the top categories tackle the full course.
The course consists of a five-kilometer loop within the Coti forest, ridden two, three, or four times based on category. The longest race covers twenty kilometers with 750 meters of elevation gain, making it a demanding course despite its short distance. Participants range from children to masters over 70. One edition counted towards the Corsican championships for the first time. Vélo Club Ajaccio performed strongly on home turf, securing the top three overall positions and placing seven riders in the top ten, with Maxime Luzi winning ahead of his father Guillaume.
