The Verticale de la Praille is a vertical kilometer-style trail race on the Plateau d'Hauteville, in the Ain department near Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It features a steep climb at about 1,100 meters of altitude, and runners can enter solo, as a pair, or as a team.
The race, also listed as the Trail Vertical de la Praille, is connected to Hauteville-Lompnes, a mountain-sport area focused on uphill effort. A recent edition had around a hundred participants, with the strongest competitors completing 13 climbs in two hours. Young skiers and biathletes have used the race as a demanding training session, indicating the physical demands of the course.
