Via Aurea - Luc-la-Primaube is a spring trail race starting at the Espace St-Exupery in La Primaube, Aveyron. Participants begin the day there before taking buses to an undisclosed location in the Viaur valley, then race back on foot. Organized by Coureurs a pied de La Primaube, the event features two challenging trail routes: a 10 km course with approximately 300 meters of elevation gain, and a 20 km course with approximately 600 meters of elevation gain.
The revised course deviates from the previous loop and out-and-back path between La Primaube and Cayrac. Some trails required reopening after Storm Nils caused damage in the valley; members of CPLP collaborated with local residents, mountain bikers, and hunters from Comps to clear them. The organizers describe the new routes as engaging and retaining their characteristic unexpected elements. Participants finish back in La Primaube, with food available for those wishing to remain after the event.
