The Brighton Miles is a free one-mile run, jog, or walk held in Preston Park during Brighton Marathon Weekend. It is designed for families and mixed abilities, not exclusively club runners, offering timed results for those who want them and an optional finisher's medal as a race-day keepsake. The course is on road, fast and flat, making the distance accessible for children, beginners, and anyone participating in the weekend without committing to the longer races.
The start line is within Preston Park, which also features a free Festival Area with toilets, accessible toilets, a Sensory Calm Space, and a Multi Faith Prayer Space. The day includes free activities from local groups like Brighton Table Tennis Club, Nam Yang Martial Arts Club, VYD Football, and Bevendean Gymnastics Club. Past events have seen runners in superhero costumes, reflecting the relaxed family atmosphere of a one-mile race connected to a larger marathon weekend.
