Beat Box Hill Trails begins atop Box Hill in Surrey, offering participants 21K, 31K, or 50K routes across the Surrey Hills and North Downs Way. This is a trail-running event, not a road race. The terrain is muddy, hilly, and uneven; the shorter, half-marathon-style route alone features approximately 700 metres of elevation gain. The longer distances venture further into similar terrain, with early start times for the 31K and 50K, and a later start for the 21K.
The courses traverse ridgelines, woodland paths, chalky ascents, open areas, and singletrack, with trail flags, tags, A5 arrows, and signs indicating the path. Box Hill also hosts more demanding hill runs, such as a 12.5-mile Vertical KM route from Stepping Stones Car Park that includes about 1,000 metres of ascent in a short distance, establishing the area's reputation for steep challenges among local runners. Beat Box Hill Trails, organised by RunThrough Series, attracts experienced trail runners and capable newcomers seeking a challenging yet clearly marked course with marshal support, chip timing, race photos, and a themed medal.
