On the Hebridean isle of Coll, between Mull and Tiree, this feels less like a large-scale race and more like the island preparing itself. The Coll Half Marathon is described as an “Annual Running Festival on the Hebridean isle of Coll,” and that suits it: most islanders participate, runners arrive by ferry from Oban or by a short flight from Connel Airport, and the weekend begins before you even register.
Expect a welcoming group of adults, U16s, SAC members, returning participants, and local Coll Runners, with people returning for the “stunning views on this beautiful island” as much as the competition. The distinctive element for 2026 is the new Coll Runners trophies, given to the fastest local male and female runners in the event races. It is the type of trip where the run and the “fabulous Coll weekend” are difficult to distinguish.
