The Hardmoors 30 Trail Ultra is a 30-mile winter trail race starting from Fylingdales Village Hall in Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Yorkshire coast. Participants begin in the morning on a circular course with an 11-hour time limit. Entry is capped at 200 participants and is restricted to adults. Recent editions have sold out, indicating a dedicated trail-running event rather than a spontaneous one.
The course connects Robin Hood’s Bay to locations including Ravenscar, Cloughton Wyke, Hayburn Wyke, Crookness, and Scalby Mills, near Scarborough. A significant portion follows the cliff-top paths of the Cleveland Way, with the Cinder Track providing a varied surface and pace. Dogs are prohibited. One pound from each entry fee supports the Cleveland Way National Trail. As the race takes place in winter on the North York Moors coast, adverse weather conditions may lead to cancellation. In such instances, participants are offered a place in another Hardmoors race instead of a monetary refund.
