The Inverness Half Marathon starts at Bught Park by the River Ness and finishes inside Queen’s Park Stadium. This early spring race in the Highland capital offers a 13.1-mile half marathon and a 5K. The half marathon follows a flat, on-road route through Inverness, suitable for runners aiming for a fast time or using it as a spring marathon tune-up.
The course passes several city landmarks before the stadium finish, giving the race more local character than a simple out-and-back road run. The half marathon has been held for over 40 years, making it one of Scotland’s longer-standing road races. First-timers, club runners, PB hunters, charity runners, and those returning through the 5K all participate on the same weekend. Inverness is accessible by airport, train, bus, and road for participants traveling from outside the Highlands.
