The Jedburgh Three Peaks Ultra is a 38-mile trail ultra and relay held in Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, coinciding with the annual Jedburgh Running Festival. Starting and finishing in town, it uses chip timing and maintains a small field with a 300-runner limit. The course is fully marked, with a GPX file provided. The required kit is straightforward for an ultra: a foil blanket, waterproof top, and mobile phone.
The route traces St Cuthbert's Way and the River Tweed, then takes participants over the Eildon Hills above Melrose before returning to Jedburgh. Checkpoints are located around miles 10, 17, 20, and 28, with drop bags accepted at most. The event demonstrates an inclusive approach: reduced fees and payment plans are available for low-income participants, Vet70 runners receive a discount code, and subsidized places are offered for trans and nonbinary runners via LEAP Sports Scotland. The race embraces its unconventional character, referring to itself as "the race that never grows up."
