The Kingston Break-FEST Run begins and ends in Kingston’s historic Market Place. The run starts at 8:00 am, offering a breakfast-run atmosphere upon completion. Participants can select from 8-mile, 16-mile, or 20-mile distances, making it particularly suitable for those training for a spring marathon, rather than seeking a typical 10K or half marathon.
The fundamental course is an 8-mile circuit. Runners completing 8 miles do the loop once. Those running 16 miles complete it twice, and 20-mile participants add extra distance through North Kingston, incorporating sections of the river towpath and Canbury Gardens. The route incorporates the Thames towpath, crosses Kingston Bridge and Hampton Court Bridge, and passes Hampton Court Palace. This race has been held annually since 1998. It was initially organized by Human Race Events and is now managed by River Thames Running. The Market Place finish, with its food stalls, nearby pubs, and restaurants, becomes an integral part of the morning’s activities, extending beyond just the conclusion of the run.
