The Leeds Country Way Winter Ultra South is a point-to-point ultra held in January. It begins at Miners Welfare Hall in Garforth, located east of Leeds. This race is one of two Leeds Country Way Winter Ultras, a set of consecutive long-distance events scheduled to take advantage of the limited daylight in winter.
The series utilizes local footpaths encircling Leeds, deviating from a closed-road city course. The South race forms part of a two-stage route that loops the city. Participants depart Garforth in the early morning, navigating paths across West Yorkshire throughout the day, regardless of the January weather conditions.
